Video Platform: CDN Integration

Need to integrate our CMS to work with our chosen CDN to stream videos in our player(s).

Videos should be sent to encoding solution (most likely www.encoding.com) and stored for streaming purposes.

Need to have backoffice tool to upload video and display advertising to the CDN and output a url for use in our ad tool.

Our likely CDN will be Highwinds. They maintain edge services for any static content (Images, CSS, Javascript, etc.) as well as provide a Flash Streaming Service (FMS).

We will primarily want to use the CDN by pushing content to their edge storage service and then integrating our website delivery from our origin cluster with content delivered from Highwinds. Additionally, flash files will need to be ultimately stored on the CDN edge storage (after encoding). This means we will need a robust utility or set of utilities to manage content and flash files stored on the CDN, to add new content, edit and remove content as well as retrieve information regarding the files served by the CDN.

We need to manage the upload of all our current video assets into the CDN. This should be done programmatically such that all videos hosted on blip get properly transfered.

Additionally, we should maintain a fallback if the video is not found in the database, in which case the blip sourced video should be played.
